The
members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and
John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training
in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.
(Acts 4:13)
Sometimes I have some doubts that God will use me since I don’t
have proper training in preaching ministry or any theology courses. And aside
from that, I have made many mistakes in the past. Does it matter to Him? Does
God have the right choices in picking people to serve Him?
But He chose John and Peter ordinary men who are said to be uneducated
according to the standard of this world. But those servants of God had
exceeding wisdom compared to the teachers of law because they did not rely on
their intellectual understanding, but they experienced Jesus firsthand and were
living witnesses of His death and resurrection.
Same thing with us. Even though we don’t see Jesus rise from
death we experience Him in our daily walks in our lives. And He is calling you
too. All you have to do is banish your doubts. Just make yourself available and
He is always there to mold us according to His purpose. “Have I not commanded
you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified. Do not be discouraged. For
the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
